iOS 6 Coming this Fall

At Apple’s WWDC keynote last month, Apple announced that iOS 6 will debut this Fall, featuring more than 200 updates and improvements. iOS 6 will be available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch,

Here are just a few things you can expect from iOS 6:

Facebook Integration:

Facebook will be integrated throughout iOS 6 in apps, web browser and Siri. Facebook birthdays and events can sync with the calendar. Sharing with your Facebook friends will be even easier with iOS 6.

Maps:

New interactive 3D maps designed by Google offer the following features:

  • Turn-by-turn spoken directions
  • Interactive 3D views
  • Real-time traffic information
  • Local search

Siri:

  • Understands more languages
  • Works in more counties
  • Available on the iPad
  • Sports scores and statistics
  • Movie reviews and show times
  • Restaurant reviews and reservations
  • Open apps on command
  • Tweet and post Facebook updates

Passbook:

With Passbook, you can store your boarding passes, movie tickets, retail coupons, loyalty cards, and more in one place.  Passbook is location-enabled so tickets and boarding passes will appear on your screen at the appropriate time and place.

FaceTime:

FaceTime will now work over cellular networks as well as WiFi.

Phone:

You know have the option to do the following:

  • Send a call to voicemail
  • Reply to a call with a message
  • Set up a time or location based callback reminder
  • Set up a customizable Do Not Disturb feature
